Sunday 20th September

Over the last five days we have caught up on sleep (it’s been a hectic few weeks!) and completed our to-do list on the vehicle, which included changing the passenger seat belt, fitting a hidden safe, bolting the Zarges boxes to the roof, swapping the plastic header tank for an aluminium one, changing the winch cable, fitting a bonnet padlock hasp, attaching net pockets to the cubby box sides, finishing the window tinting and fitting roof nets. We also managed to find a suitable table at a local caravan shop, which will hopefully survive the rigours of daily use (as opposed to the rubbish ones in the UK which wouldn’t). We’ve had a lovely time enjoying Bob’s hospitality (and a big thank you to Sarah as well), and we’ve also slowly increased the pile of things for him to bring back to the UK as we discarded stuff we thought we could do without (Bob’s really pleased about this!). I think we’ve managed to lose close to 100kg of equipment, but we still look a bit heavy and the back will need further rearranging.
