After another sunny start (long may they continue), we navigated a slightly circuitous route back to the main road as numerous tracks led off in multiple directions, but eventually we emerged unscathed without having to double back. We continued up Indian Ocean Drive, through Leeman and up to Port Denison/Dongara, where we had lunch by the beach and spent the afternoon trying to roughly plan our remaining time in Australia. Our main conclusion was that we don’t have enough time to see everything we want to, so we’ll have to make some tough decisions as we go (including probably not going to Uluru). On the bright side it will give us an excuse to return. SPOT
Geraldton was our target for the evening, where we’ll have a couple of days to restock on food and fuel, upload the blog and generally catch up with ourselves. We’ve checked into a caravan park and are fully utilising their facilities by cooking on the BBQ, doing paperwork in the camp kitchen and we’ll be washing tomorrow. All we need now are some fish so we can use the fish cleaning area. SPOT
