Thursday 27th May - Albany to Freemantle

It rained on and off during the night but was clearing as we got up, and the sun reappeared to help dry us out before we set off on the 400km drive back to Freemantle.  Free tea and coffee was provided by the campsite - they are so civilised in this part of the world!

The drive back up Route 30, the Albany Highway, was fairly uneventful, with the main realisation being that we are the slowest vehicle on the road.  Who wants to go fast and miss the scenery anyway?

Hitting traffic and stop lights on the outskirts of the Perth area was a rude awakening as we have been used to quiet roads for the last ten days.  Still, getting back to Annie’s was like coming home, and Chris had even cooked a roast for our return.  A glass of wine and catching up on internet stuff took us to bedtime.
