Sunday 9th May - Fremantle

We braved the waters and went for a swim in the sea this morning, although we did get a few funny looks from the locals who were all wearing long trousers and jumpers.  Butler didn’t come in, instead dropping his ball at the water’s edge for us to throw, but once you got used to it the water temperature was very pleasant.

We walked back into the centre of Fremantle sans dog in order to visit the indoor markets, housed in the original building dating from 1897.

Whilst mainly catering for tourists, there’s a fruit and veg yard at the back, and a coffee and donut was enjoyed whilst watching the world go by.

Onto the E-Shed Markets by the port we found much the same but without the fruit and veg.

We were able to confirm that the ship carrying our Land Rover had indeed docked and was in the process of being loaded, which we assumed happened after they unloaded, so hopefully our container is waiting for collection tomorrow.

We sat outside to make the most of the remaining sun before getting the free CAT bus back to Annie’s, where a full on Sunday lunch was being prepared (you don’t get that in a hostel!).
