A lie in compensated for yesterday’s early start, but eventually we had to get up to make ready the Land Rover. We decided to wash the seat covers to try to get out the musty smell that is permeating the cab, and after opening up the roof tent to air we felt the bedding could also do with a wash.
Despite leaving things behind in the UK, we seem to have more stuff than before. We’re not sure how that can be, and we’re hoping that once everything is found a home it won’t look so bad.
We’d been told of a good place to buy fruit and vegetables, so drove over and stocked up for a week or so for less than half the cost of the supermarkets. We’ll know in future to keep a look out for proper greengrocers.
A walk down to the beach with Annie and Butler as the sun set was glorious, and a fitting end to our time in Fremantle. In some ways we’ll be sorry to leave, but the open road is calling and we’re eager to set off on our journey around Australia.

Hello and welcome to Western Australia. I saw you yesterday on the Sou-West Highway. I was in the white Defender near Serpentine and flashed my lights. You must be on the road and heading to Albany.

ReplyDeleteAnne was driving at the time and she hopes she was quick enough to have flashed you back! We are indeed heading to Albany before we go north again, up the west coast and onwards.
We're loving Australia already and can't wait to go off-roading on some stock tracks and suchlike and make full use of the Land Rover.
